Island of a thousand temples.
Why Bali
Bali feels different from the moment you arrive — offerings of flowers and incense on every doorstep, temple gates carved in volcanic stone, rice terraces stepping down green hillsides. For travellers from South India there is something familiar here too: a living Hindu culture, expressed in its own beautiful way.
Ubud is the cultural heart, with jungle villas, waterfalls and dance performances. The south — Seminyak, Nusa Dua, Uluwatu — is for beaches, sunsets and cliff-top temples. A good Bali trip includes both.
Reasons to go
Private pool villas, floating breakfasts and candlelit dinners on the sand.
Temple ceremonies, kecak dance and festivals you can respectfully witness.
Rice terraces, volcanoes, waterfalls and coral reefs.
Luxury villas at prices that would buy a standard room elsewhere.
Top experiences
Sea temples on rocks and cliffs, best at sunset.
Rice terraces, the Monkey Forest and artisan villages.
A day trip to Kelingking Beach’s dramatic headland.
A sunrise trek above the clouds for the energetic.
A holy spring temple where Balinese come to purify.
Chanting and storytelling from the Ramayana at Uluwatu.

Usually not — most routings connect via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok. We choose the most comfortable connection for you.
For 6 nights, we typically suggest 3 in Ubud and 3 by the beach.
Bali offers more to see and do; the Maldives is pure seclusion. Read our journal comparison, or combine both.
